ECAC English Worship Feb 22, 2009

Hi all,
When I was reflecting on what theme to base this week’s worship set on, I was drawn to Paul’s writings about the “mystery” of the gospel and the salvation given to us. Whenever I think of God’s undeserved grace shown to us, I find myself quite amazed. It’s like my soul just wants to pause and dwell in that beuatiful thought and ponder the richness of its significance. (Hard to put it into words though). Paul, in his letter to the Ephesians was able to capture some of that feeling. I hope that these verses are a blessing to you as you prepare your hearts for this week’s worship set.

Ephesians 1: 3-8

Spiritual Blessings in Christ

3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace 8that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

Ephesians 3:2, 3, 6

Paul the Preacher to the Gentiles

2Surely you have heard about the administration of God's grace that was given to me for you, 3that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly… 6This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.

Below, you will find a rough order of service and some rough notes about each of the tunes. I hope to have a response song chosen by Tuesday when I hear from Pastor Henry about the sermon topic. I hope to also post some more spoken instructions within the next day or so for this worship set For this week, the instrumentation will be:

Andrew: Drums
Matthias: Bass
Sam: E-Guitar / Background Vocals
Julie: Accoustic Rhythm Guitar / Background Vocals
Natalie: Piano
Gideon: Vocals

Thank you all for the time and energy you put into preparing. Blessings.
